Upon my arrival to Venezuela, I plan to efficiently attack the peninsulares and remove them from the area. Having just gained the territories or Peru and Argentina independence, Venezuela will be a big step in the process of ridding of the Spaniards from this land. Without them pestering and ordering all of you, I plan to unify all the newly independent nations to create a tightly knit community of diverse, but equal classes of people, putting us on the world's table with no one else benifiting greater than us. Our natural resources currently help provide some of the most demanding consumers in the world, and our land is profitable and plentiful. However, these advantages we could be proffiting from are being monoplolized by the colonizers of Spain with a headquaters that is an ocean's distance away. This makes them essentially weaker than us and I am determined to take advantage of this and bring peace and unification to you people, rather than oppression and unhappiness. Good times are soon to come, my people; just keep believing it, and it will happen!

In response to the first post, I find it suiting for me and people of my status to respond by taking the initiative to help Revolutionary#1 in his endeavors. I feel that as a creole, I have more resources at my disposal to help accomplish our goals. As the peninsulares lose focus, our class can most easily take advantage of their weakening power and work to reform our government to a republic. A group of creoles and I have decided to organize a revolt against the peninsulares of Venezuela. Simon Bolivar, who has made a name for himself in leading these revolts, is on his way here. His beliefs about government are ideal, in that he believes in the social contract, natural rights, and a unified Latin America not the absolute rule of an imperial leader. We wish that with his influence and leadership, Venezuela along with the rest of Latin America can be led to independence.

An Address to the People

February 22, 1808

For those of you who haven't been keeping up with the times; Napoleon has just invaded Spain. With his efforts so involved over in Europe, now is our chance to take action against the Spaniards who have oppressed us for so long. This blog is being created so that we can share our thoughts and unite during this important time in all of our lives. With so much going on in Europe, the peninsulares are very distracted and are becoming very weak. They have been keeping us down for all of these years. They have kept all of their wealth and power from us and have monopolized all of the higher status. They have treated us like slaves and we are through. We hope in the near future that we can have independence from Spain and be granted more equal rights than what we have been given in the past.

Feel free to post your thoughts and keep everyone who gets involved informed.
